Margaret Yes, I remember reading that play in at least one college French course ... along with others of Giraudoux.

Steven Sarafian The wikipedia link is fine; Giradoux had a broad life and diverse work. But for Americans he is know mostly as a playwright and is best known for "The Madwoman of Chaillot" (another delightful fantasy) and "Tiger at the Gates" (an anti-war play revived during the Vietnam war).

Margaret I do remember that "Tiger at the Gates" in the original French is "La guerre de Troi n'aura pas lieu" which translates as "The Trojan War Will Not Take Place."
