Manny I should warn you that Aristotle's advice has often turned out to be deeply flawed. I encourage you to seek a second opinion.

Tom Get bookbub, they give you books for free.

Miguel wrote; "I though of it as "steal if you must, but pay the author!""

No, you pay Amazon stupid. Illiiterate foreigners!

Blue Libraries?

There are also books for free on Amazon, some are probably awful but others are sales. Some author websites have freebies too, sometimes a book 4 or 7 but sometimes it is book 1 (to get you to buy the following books, but still, a free ebook). They probably miss a lot, but Bookbub is a newsletter (but you can view just on the website) with deals (some free) for ebooks from many sources, but Fussy Librarian does the same thing with an option to only have free ones in your newsletter, not just sales.

Blue Maybe that was a joke? "pay Amazon not the author" seems like a common enough jab, although the wording was off. I dunno, it is a weird comment.

Anne Seebach Gotta love project gutenberg for a forests-worth of excellent free books - our Aussie version would be the closest match for copyright/public domain laws I think. And there are some excellent [legal] free pickings at Smashwords too.
