Thank you for the transparent and very interesting backstory. And yes, thanks Matt for asking!
Thank you for sharing Michael. I absolutely love reading about my favorite authors as... well, people. I think it makes them relatable and reminds us that everyone has struggles and everyone has successes, and that nothing is accomplished overnight. Congratulations on all of your success with what is clearly your passion!
That is fantastic having someone support you like that, and that's even more fantastic that you were able to be a stay at home parent. My wife stays home and I often wonder how in the world she manages it. I'll be honest, I wouldn't have pegged you for an advertising guy! Not sure what I would have guessed, but it wouldn't have been that.
I appreciate you granting some insight to your process! I write for fun and have always wondered whether or not I would actually spend more time doing it or not if I ever made anything of it (which is about as likely as me getting struck by lightning later).
I'm also curious, are you an outliner type or do you just sit down and write your stories as they flow out of your head?
Thanks again for sharing!
Loved your intro on the audible version of The Disappearance of Winters Daughter.
I also have much to thank my wife for, carrier wise. She supported me going back to finish a bachelors and then we both went off to Medical School.
This is probably my favorite question anyone had asked and the story that we learned from it. So thank you both for the question and the answer. I know you say this a lot and with this last project it was made even more clear but you are an extremely lucky man to have a partner like Robin! Your story's and character's are a gift to us all that wouldn't have been shared if not for you 2 meeting and being supportive of each other.
So thank you Michael for the stories and thank your wife for us all as well for allowing you to follow your bliss. Take care guys!
