Sounds appropriate to me. :D
Along the Mississippi River there are huge mounds built by Native Americans. Most are very near the big river, but in my story, there is one mound in Sunflower County that was a homesite for a plantation--until it burned. Now that mound is being excavated. And then there's a murder! Sarah Booth, Tinkie, and the critters are on the case.
