G.R. Reader Manny, that's amazing. I must tell you sometime how I got the idea for my most recent book.

Shaun King Manny -- YOU, Sir are not only one of the brightest and best read authors in the Goodreads realm, YOU Sir, are by far THE funniest, most inventive and truly imaginative. The Goodreads' world, nay wait, our world is much, much better and more interesting with you in it. Long may YE reign, King Manny!

Manny Thank you Shaun! If only I were a corrupt absolute monarch, I would be moved by your flattery to knight you on the spot.

I love to read the works of a particular author that I know will help me in some ways. Thich would be an example of that. Other books I read based on a need since I am interested in my personal application of neuroplasticity and how I can get my brain to work for me and learn new habits. I also check out books for my study of French and I always look for the best resources in order to perfect the language. Here, I am driven by a need. It is always a joy to stop by and see what Manny has to say. I particularly keep on getting amused by your sense of humor as in this:
I was introduced to Les onze mille verges by Matthew, who ought to be ashamed of himself. You'll recall that Socrates was put to death for corrupting the youth of Athens. I don't know what they did to youths who were found guilty of corrupting the middle-aged, but I'm sure it was very nasty.
I love this humor. We need more and more humor like that :)

Manny Thank you Ibrahim. I had quite forgotten posting that review!

Manny As I said, Miss Fatou, buy one of my books and we'll talk about it some more. I'm waiting to see your review.

message 7: by Elliott (new)

Elliott Bignell This clears up, albeit in the most distressing possible way, something that had been bothering me. I closed or abandoned my Amazon accounts in several countries some time ago due to their offensive stance over Wikileaks and the Snowdon affair, plus their cack-handed moderation of the fora. I copied all my reviews to Goodreads to get away from them. I saw someone claim it was Amazon's review site a while ago and it didn't seem to make sense, as they already have a review site. I don't like the idea that I am once again doing free work for their business.

Curses.

Zephryus9 For Profit and For Truth is at perpetual conflict. I found your reviews to be very insightful, do you do any audio or video logs of your reviews. I prefer to listen because my dyslexia makes reading quite draining after a while. Thanks for your service Manny.

Jim I am once again doing free work for (Amazon)

"Work!" Very cool to have a professional reviewer "working" on GoodReads! Off to read some of them!

anton_rich That's very upsetting. At first I meant to say that about Amazon, but when I read that your reviews are offline. Gosh, how come?
