It's good to read them in order, though. Each book is a part of something bigger and something really awesome. When you read in order it makes the whole experience so much better ;)
Yup. You miss some of the little stuff in the world-building if you read them out of order.
I agree, you ruin the greatness of the overall picture if you read it mid series...but technically you can.
I started the Dark Hunters mid-series and liked it, but loved it when I started over at the beginning and found I had missed things in the books I had already read. Many "ah-ha" moments when I read them in order.
