In the book Memory, a person who is very upset claims, "Vor does mean thief." But that was the first time such a connection was even hinted at. The person who made the remark might have come across it in a academic setting. Further explanation would require a spoiler, so I'll just suggest that people check out the book. It's my favorite of all the Vorkosigan books.
I don't know about that, Katrine...Delia Koudelka is hardly the short end of the stick. Sure, there was some emotional pain at first, but both Gregor AND Duv found loves far more suited to their real needs, as did Laisa and Delia, I believe.
Very good point, Gwendolyn. I was thinking of Duv’s situation before he was exonerated by Miles. Yes, Delia is a MUCH better match for him.
Not to mention that what Poor Excellent Duv goes through on Earth in Brothers. I think getting framed would pale in comparison to those events. Meanwhile, I have to agree with the love of Memory. It's right in the wodge of my favorites for top place with Komarr/CC and the "the Bookends" of Shards/Barrayar & GJ&tRQ.
