I found that bit confusing because if she was unable to use her legs, how was she driving in the car? I thought she ran out of the house and got into the car and drove to the cafe after going through rosie's phone?
She did. She had a car with manually operated controls - a friend of mine had a car like that. If you read back you will see that she never runs anywhere in scenes that take place after the accident.
