I think the interaction with Marcus was my favorite part of the book. I felt so angry that Sebastien was alone on that bus and relieved that Marcus was there for him. I also realized how lucky I was to have such a loving, caring mother. And glad when Sebastien made it to the care of his grandparents.
Hearing that others, and you, had great parents and mothers has giving me a great amount of joy through the years and the best part of seeing this book get published.
When you're young, and even into middle age, you often feel that your experience is everybody else's experience. We paint life with our own brushes and it gets hard to break away from that kind of thinking and see it as it should be instead of what's been handed down.
