I'm one of those who wants more story than romance at times, you have written in a tiny bit of romance with Gill/Matt & Diana/Nathan. At one point I thought there could be something between Drake & Gwen ;) . All that is fine in my opinion as long as it doesn't take over the story completely, like in the romance books! :D But that's my opinion.
I am also happy it is not romance centered, though enjoy the little bit in the series. I think that is what has made this series so great and refreshing. I love mermaids but a good book on them is a rare find and 99% of mermaid books out there are romances. I like a good romance but it's so limiting when it's all about boy or girl meeting merman/mermaid, falling immediately into lust and figuring out the mechanics for intercourse and then how they mesh worlds enough to get that HEA, it's all so cookie cutter and contrived.
