Matt Pierce My gosh what a mess. I can't believe the hoops you have to jump through with the publishers. You are a very popular and successful author and they are that demanding with you that it's making you go back to self publishing? Seems greedy to demand all of those rights. I'm glad you're sticking to your values around your intellectual property and I for one will always buy your books. Good luck.

Michael @Matthew - you are very welcome. Publishing is an increasingly difficult world to maneuver in. Luckily for me I have many options and capabilities.

@Matt - It's not just "me" - the publishers wield a lot of power because they all walk in "lockstep." If they make an exception for one, then it opens the door for other exceptions. The only way they can maintain a very tight control is to make a "blanket ruling" and stand by it.

Shelley Sands Thanks Michael for persevering in getting your fantastic books out to your fans in all formats! My husband likes audio and I am about the ebooks, so glad you stuck to your guns in making this happen.

I realize that's a lot of work for you, but I'm kinda glad you'll be self-publishing, maintaining complete creative and legal control, and publishing every six months.
