Scott Not to mention that the Emperor's Voice hadn't been invented yet when all the details of said ugly transitions took place and were covered "in story". ;-)
BTW, kudos for so smoothly covering such a huge addendum to Barrayar's culture. I've loved the job for Miles as soon as I read the description.

Adger Williams I have a vague recollection of one of the oldest Auditors being called a hangover from a past Emperor somewhere. Is that likely to be a correct memory.
