Kristine Franklin Thank you for the answer. I don't think it is silly at all to want your readers to imagine. I think that is often what makes for great reading. For this book, it is because we all love it so that makes us want to devour all of the books, quotes...mentioned in it.

Leslie Gay I love this! I think I commenced re-reading all my favorite childhood books in my 30s - I was born in 1968 and there were some AMAZING stories in my formative childhood and tween years! It has been a fun game to track some of them down using a snippet of memory and "name/find that book" in Reddit and then carefully putting them on my "The Best of Childhood" shelf for just when I may need them. Thank you for this reminder and quote!

Leslie Gay The Dark is Rising series, anything by Zilpha Keatly Snyder (especially The Headless Cupid and Black and Blue Magic), The Phantom Tollbooth, The Genie of Sutton Palace, The Andrew Lang fairy books, and all the Ruth Chew books just as a few examples! What a magical place my head was and how happy I am to have always read fairy tales!

chasingholden glad someone pressed this question already, thank you for stating the likely quote. it was driving me nuts, as there are several C.S. Lewis quotes that could of been the inspiration for the tattoo

Sally Smith I love it when an author has the confidence to leave space for the readers to fill in their own blanks. The best reads are the ones that send me to a map, dictionary or search engine - or to my imagination :-) I loved this book, thank you.
