Merry wins over Anita for me! I love your faerie world! Can't wait for more Merry, she seems to take longer to be written than Anita but it's worth it!
I agree! While I do love the Anita books, Merry is one of my all-time favorite characters. And for someone who reads 250-300 books per year, that's saying a bit!

I would prefer a new Merry book over the Anita series. The Anita series has lost it's appeal for me and I really love the Merry series.
I am so excited! I know you had said in your blog you had written hundreds of pages but had to scrap them for being too dark!
I also would like a new merry book or three before a new antia book. I like both but like merry more and the anitta books have really bogged down were the merry books are really picking up. It doesn't help that the big bad of the Anita books was killed (how many books back now?) and so now there is not as much external conflict and so it all has to come from the group. And the same people with the same problems popping back up over and over again (or new ones from new people that is way outside their long established character like the last book. Or was it the one before?) just doesn't have the same excitement. So while I still like the Anita books hey are not fun or fast or must reads anymore like they used to be. But the merry books still are but it has been years since we had a new one.
I've haven't found anything as intriguing as the Merry Gentry series.. I am on pins and needles waiting for more!

This was answered one year ago and another Anita Blake is coming out this year. So now there's one novel ahead of the next Merry Gentry writing. Soooo 2-4 years until publication? :(
