I feel the need to read up on this more, it's incredible what research uncovers! All my look at Louis Armstrong is just when he came to the U.K. (I focused only on the diaspora of Jazz in the UK and Paris) so I never went too far with jazz in the states other than the basics.
I would never have even guessed at how much jazz and music were intertwined! [Which I mean you think I would after watching Some Like It Hot.]
