I was actually wondering about the energy pattern thing which is what made me think of the question. I was wondering if it would be possible for Halar ( I still think of him as Halar because that is the hat he has worn the longest and best fits who he is now) to replace the chaos in his blood with the power of the Lord of Shadows. For example, when Halar bit Sparky and ascended he used his god power to make his body better able to handle magical power and have a faster nervous system. If he were to bit another simulata and went back to Olympus could then he then use the LOS as an avatar instead of the reverse? And if he could, could he then theoretically use god power to swap chaos for shadow? Personally, I would just love to "see" the other gods reaction if Halar used the LOS like Sparky uses Amber. It would make for some real fireworks!
Sadly, there are issues in the cosmology with this idea. While it's not utterly impossible, it would require he be "cured" of his vampirism first, purging the chaos infestation. The "god powers" could, in theory, do that, but would very likely incinerate his physical form. The "gods" are generally unable to affect the non-material chaos of the void in any way besides direct opposition.
Assuming a way could be found to remove the infestation without killing him, then he could have a more direct connection to his altar ego. Unfortunately, he would still have the same problem with the energy planes he did the first time. It's not a realm subject to human (well... material person) perception. He might be able to see the place as a composite of projected congruencies, but he couldn't keep his perception there for long.
Damn. Fun thought though. I just really like the idea of Halar being able to mod his vamprism the way he does his spells. Still, it does make me laugh to think of the storm he could stir up with the other gods if he could pull this off. Imagine Sparky's reaction to the idea that Halar could teach Amber to use HER as the finger puppet or Mary's reaction to Halar just casually mentioning that he had recoded what it means to be a vampire. Their heads would probably explode.
I think you'll be pleased at what he gets up to with the Boojum. :)
