Matt Tyree One additional option for someone just starting, and what I'd do if I started now: Revelations > Chronicles > Legends. So, like publication order, but shuffle Death of Dulgath back in with the other Chronicles.
I also think it'd be fun to read Legends first sometimes since characters there get name-dropped in the Riyria books. :-)
But, the characters are "different" in Legends than what you picture reading Riyria. So, then back to Riyria first. :-D
Whatevs. Any order is good!

Carolina Hello! I just wanted to say that I came here after learning that Age of legend is the forth part of a six part serie, The First Empire, but apparently, if I'm not mistaken and I've understood it properly, -it's 1:20 in Spain right now, sorry- there are another previous series that take place before, right? Are they independent, or should I better start with a determined book?

Thank you in advance to whoever answers me!

Lisa Dugan Carolina, if you scroll up there are 3 series Michael has written & published so far.
Riyria Revelations: 3 books
Riyria chronicles : 4 books
The First Empire: 6 books , 4 published so far.
They chronologically occur in a reverse timeline and I agree with Michael, it makes the most sense to read them that way, preserving all the revelations as they were meant to occur. There isn’t anything that predates The First Empire series. (That predates Riyria by 3000 years) HTH

I am a huge fan - totally smitten by Royce & Hadrian and then everyone who came along with them and now the amazing Empire ensemble. Take the plunge. ♥️♥️♥️
