Enaya #Debatesforlife Guys, Look, I love the summoners series, and I love the characters, but an author and the audience has to know when it's time to finish a story. Now, I love what Taran did with the Outcasts finding another character to write about in the same world. It's something a lot of authors struggle with, (to let go of their characters) and it ended more or less happily. It's something that I wish authors like Brandon Mull would do more often. To step away from their characters. Now, that doesn't mean step away from the world. I, for one, would love it if Taran made a sequel, but had new characters. However, that doesn't mean that the old characters can't be in the story, or even play an integral role in it. For example, one of my favorite tropes is former hero turns mentor. It's a fantastic way to bring back a character we all miss, and even continue his character growth. for example, learning that they can't protect their student forever, or that they can't always be the one that has to save the day. Learning to accept that is powerful and can really make a character arc complete. Also, Taran, if you read this comment, which, I'm thinking is highly unlikely, thank you so much. Your books helped me get threw a difficult time in my life. I mean, that and the procrastination of finishing the series.... I literally chose to do homework before reading the book. Usually, I read and then after my parents get home and tell me to do homework will I do homework. Also, this is super long, so thank you for coming to my ted talk.
