I hope it will work out. I would love to see the sequel. I love VA books and the movie was really well done. I hope we can see Frostbite in a movie too. My fingers are crossed! Good luck!
And I both adore/dread the thought of Adrian Ivashkov coming to life if it does get greenlit! Who would be talented enough to portray Adrian as the lovable character in those books? But Frostbite was my favourite out of all the VA books so I really hope it will go through at some point in the future!
Hi Richelle, has there been discussion at perhaps trying VA on TV? As Ashey mentioned, vampires shows have done well, not to mention Teen Wolf on MTV also features supernatural and is fairly popular with good ratings. Just curious!
I really wish they'd make it into a TV show!! Each season could cover one book. I think there's enough material there for that. And we could have a spin off series for Bloodlines!
Wow thanks for replying Richelle! Didn't know if you'd reply or not and ahhh you called me sweet :) Just finished reading Silver Shadows yesterday and can't wait for Feb! Yeah that is true about the fan base being teens :/ wow what a battle, i do see why people could say vampire are "over" though :( I'm glad to hear that they have been working hard to get Frostbite and that they haven't forgotten about us fans! Fingers crossed :)
I'm old. But I LOVED VA. I debated about funding, but could justify as I honestly felt the first movie was awful. A sequel done in the same style would probably make me cringe as well. I would totally fund a remake of the first though or a TV show!
TBH I'm not active here but I love your books. If I knew there was a kickstarter page to raise money for Frostbite, I wld have pledge! I'm not a teen; full fledged working adult here *sob sob*
I just hate that. The first book/movie is almost misleading because your books get more intense as they go. Frostbite is where it all really starts to move. I wish people could see that transformation. I believe it would make a big difference for the rest.
true Renee ^ I love The Vampire Diaries and The Originals! But I think people have made a big deal about vampires, making it seem as if they are this fleeting phase that has "been going on for too long" but seriously that is not true! What is wrong with vampires? :(
I know vampires have been going on for so long! Since mediaeval times and all the legends and stuff! And no one seems to be sick of ghost stories or anything so I say KEEP GOING WITH VAMPIRES!!!
I loved your books and was disappointed when they decided not to continue with the rest of the series. A friend and I were discussing this just the other day and I really feel this movie series was a victim of bad circumstances:
1-I really feel the movie was hurt by its largely unknown cast.
2-It was released when the market was a little saturated with may book to movie adaptations especially in the young adult category.
But despite that it still did not do so poorly in the box office that it warranted nixing the whole project in my honest opinion. Who knows maybe a few years down the road the movie makers will get their heads outta their you know whats and continue the series.
In the meantime, it is probably for the best, the movies are usually a poor substitute for the books anyway and I for one hate all the creative liberties screenplay writers take with what is already amazing material.
Vampires are "over" but yours are not typical vampires that can be over. Twilight is done, VA & BL is
NOT
People think that because Twilight sucked that VA is the same just because there is vampires. So not true, VA is completely different and it is good. I will wait and fight for another motion picture too.
My thing was I love the book series its one of my favorites but the movie to me didn't measure up so I wouldn't donate money because I didn't want it to go to waste. I think they just added way to much random stuff to the movie and I thought the book was good enough.
It's very important that we make the rest of the VA series into movies. I want to see the adventures of Rose, Dimitri, and Lisa come to life.
I agree MacKenzie. Except we should just skip over frostbite so I don't cry over Mason's death again.
I can reread the series and each time i just cry and i'm like whhhy and I cry when Dimitri is turned.
I hope it all works out. I'm not a teen being 45 {eyeroll} but I loved the series and Bloodlines too! I'd watch or read more about that world.
I didn't care for the way it was directed. Unfortunately I felt like they were making fun of the book and could've bare to finish the movie. I was so looking forward to it. It wasn't ment to be a comedy like Mean Girls...it was supposed to be about a bada@@ girl who's sarcarm and charm that make her so "real" in personality hooked you into her life...including forbidden love.
It is frustrating because, like the books, the movies would get better and more intense as they went. While I liked the movie, I did think it got 'campy'. Of course, I was around for the eighties movies, and wasn't all that happy to revisit some of that. I sure wish Frostbite would get a chance. That is where this series really started to take a turn for me.
Don't get me wrong I am completely in LOVE with your series; however, in order for the movie to be interesting for the average movie goer who has not read the series to enjoy it you would have to combine most things from the second and third books or else the ending will be disappointing.
I totally agree! I read the VA series like 3 times and loved it more each time. The movie didnt do the books justice. I really truly hope there is more to come though, I'd totally support Richelle in any venture. I love Adrian and Rose!!!!!!
I'm not a teen and I loved VA! I read all six books in three weeks. As much as I would love for there to be a movie sequel maybe we would have more luck with a mini series? As long as Zoey and Danila come back to star!!
I hope that Frostbite will be on screen someday. Especially because I hope that BL will be a movie too =))) That would be so exciting with Adrian, Sydney and those witches.
I go for the tv series. I hope they will make it one day ç__ç by the way I love VA series and I love even more Bloodlines series *_______________* Can't wait to read your new novel! *_____*
i would like them to do what they have done with Shadow Hunters, only with the same cast, Loved me some Dimitri (Danila)
Teen fans grow up though. I certainly have. ;) If I could contact the investors I'd say "Shut up and take my donation! Now, movie (or even better, show) please. :)".
I, too, would be nervous about the portrayal of Adrian. His character would be tricky to get right for me as he is my favourite and I have high expectations when it comes to him.
I second (or tenth) the show being produced. Stick to the books and give it all the details it deserves, like the books did.
I am 21 now and still like VA. I don't mind if characters are older or younger than me personally. I would donate to a crowdfund site that doesn't take a cut. I'm going to contact YouCaring and see if artistic endeavors like films are allowed to fundraise on their site.
If there was a TV series I really wouldn't want them to change any of the actors and actresses. And VA is my favourite book series by far can't wait to start bloodlines
I would absolutely prefer a tv series that can stick to the books as faithfully as possible over a movie. The series has so much too it, that you just can't cut it down into 90 minute blocks per book.
IMHO the problem with most book to screen projects is they aim the film and marketing at one age group. I’m a fan of young adult books ....and have not been a young adult for about 25 years (my nickname is Peter Pan) anyway it is a disappointment when I’m looking forward to another series being successful, trust me hen I say when I saw new moon and eclipse and Taylor lautner took his shirt off there were plenty of 40 something ladies in the audience making noise. Another problem is getting a screen writer that sticks closely to the authors story. The dialogue is already there , the book sales alone should tell the producers there work is done and they can concentrate on getting the right person for the role and not just throwing in a bunch of popular eye candy. anyway if I get a vote I say go with bloodlines , after all Sydney and Adrian are the couple with more obstacles in the way of their HEA

Yay!!! I hope you make the Frostbite movie!!
