Hussain Aljamri Aquila It in Arabic is used to (and this purely my own understanding): Describe in a praising and dignifying manner a woman in most cases, or to indicate that a woman is married, or to say that something is among the best. In all cases it is used for glorification and ennoblment. It is also an old word and seldom does anyone use it nowadays.

Jasmine To add to that, Aql means wit and wisdom in Arabic. Aquil is an inflection of that which means a man who posses wisdom. the "a" at the end makes it feminine. Meaning a very wise lady.
