Hi Aminata: I too take a break from writing and read as well as write something that I will not publish because it is about long past family members who have made an impact on me.
Aminata: I write clean romance and science fiction. My first novel was written by using point of view from the hero and the heroine in alternate chapters while most of my other writings has been from just the male stand point. Do you think it better to include stand point from the female or maybe alternating between male and female?
I think it's a matter or personal preference. Personally, I prefer books where I get both POVs, but sometimes a single POV works best.
I wasn't sure I could write from the woman's point of view. I have one novel, Motorcycle Woman and four short stories, Marcy's Struggle and three Bible character stories from the woman's point of view. The Shunammite Woman seems to be my best story.
I guess it's the same as a woman writing the male POV...it should be fine as long as it's done in keeping with the character and without making the character sound like the other gender 😄.
I don't have much feedback one way or another with my stories using the woman's point of view. I do have several sales with The Shunammite Woman and I didn't even try to promote it and the cover was not done professionally. I am thankful for that. I had the Bible and a book about the Bible Lands to help me on that.
