Grant Yes, but what do YOU think? I know I always felt that, without the amp from Erick's own inner darkness, Erik always seemed to overpower the DK with only minor difficulty but I want to know if you think all the other bits in Erik's head will ever let him evolve as a person to the point where his own inn good will simply be to much for the demon king to do anything with.

Garon Whited That's an excellent question. And I'll be happy to answer it... later in the series.

Grant Tease

Garon Whited No, that's not teasing. Teasing is when I tell you Avila knows the answer, without explaining who or what Avila is, or even which book Avila will appear in. Or even if Avila will make an appearance.

Newbage I thought Eric was definitively stronger. In their original fight, before he was taken over, Eric was winning before the Demon King opened the basement hatch. Wasn't it either implied or directly stated by the Demon King, just before opening the hatch and swarming him, that if Eric hadnt created that hatch, he wouldn't have lost?

Garon Whited The question is indeterminate. If we postulate Eric's consciousness is all that counts, then yes, Eric appears to be a match for the Demon King.
Unfortunately, there seems to be easy access to his unconscious, as well. Since the Demon King was originally formed from the less-pleasant aspects of Eric's personality, it naturally resonates with those aspects within Eric. So, while Eric can at least hold his own with the Demon King, the Demon King can draw on Eric's on darker nature--his fears, his insecurities, his nightmares--and so turn some of Eric's own self, his own power, against him.
(It's like the Demon King cheats!)

Page Adam Eric cant win against the demon king. He plays to many roles and is to insecure in all of them. Those insecurities weaken him. Now, his advantage is his loves, Bronze, Mary , Tort, and others, their consistency and love may give him the strength to beat the demon king,
