I know you are aware, but your fans would absolutely LOVE another Vorkosigan story, of any length, centering on any of its characters. Hint...hint.
I'm particularly partial to Miles with his Forward Momentum.
Fascinating, to think of the entire Vorkosigan universe spinning stories in your imagination till one reaches enough of a critical mass to make you concentrate on it. We can only hope that there are more budding stories about to blossom onto the page.
I remember you saying that Ivan in particular strenuously resisted being made a protagonist for years. I believe "hiding under the bed" may have been mentioned...
Margaret, I think Ivan's "hiding under the bed" is evidence that there was something there of interest that just hadn't coalesced yet. Armsman Eszterhazy isn't hiding under the bed, because we don't know enough about him to want to pull him out of his obscurity.
