Val is bad for Emmanuele and the Ferraro family. It should be Elie Archambault.
In a couple of the Shadow Rider books, and especially in Shadow Warrior, the Ferraro's talk about the fact that Saldi men in the past were known to take Ferraro women as wives or mistresses (willing or not, I think). Val could have Ferraro ancestry, which might make him an acceptable match for her genetically. As for the things he said, I have my own ideas about what he was up to, but I won't discuss them...because then Christine can't use them and if they are what I think, it would ruin her story.
Honestly, not sure I would like to see Val as Emmanuelle’s soulmate. I don’t think her deserves her Love.
