That must be something. That's one of my very favourites books ever!
I just finished it and I loved it! I was not liking where the story was going at one point because I knew Peony's story had taken a sharp turn and I didn't want that for her but by the end I was happy with how the story continued and ended. I thought about quitting but I didn't. Glad I stuck with it.
Is it possible to love/hate it? I was BAWLING through the beginning, Peony's story is heart breaking. But I felt the need to press on and I am so glad I did!
I absolutely loved Peony in Love! In fact it is my favorite of Lisa's novels. My second favorite is Snowflower and the Secret Fan. But I love them all!
I’m one that didn’t like it. I suppose I enjoyed the read but didn’t like the end. I felt frustrated. But I’ve been lucky to have spent over 12 years in China. I thoroughly enjoy all your other books. My favorites being Shanghai Girls/Dreams of Joy, Tea Girl and Snow Flower. Please keep writing!
