Patrick Right, I figured the Producer would choose. I was just curious if you had someone in mind you liked (say a John Favreau or Dave Filoni) who could do a good job. Thanks for replying btw, very insightful.

Derek I've been fairly impressed with the accuracy of some recent rendering of books into TV series. Altered Carbon (Netflix) and The Expanse (originally SyFy, now on Amazon Video) have both been pretty accurate to what I remember, though it was a few years between reading the books and watching the show. However, on other threads others have commented that much of what makes Lois's writing great is the internal dialogs of the characters and how tough that would be to bring out on screen, but I'd still like to see someone try. :) Hopefully they'd be smart enough to bring in the author to consult.

Julia\Glyneth Somewhere I may have the description of the original script that was horrendous; I got it forwarded to me YEARS ago and it was just so bad it was funny. I wonder if I can find it again after all these years...

Scott Though I can completely agree with the position of being extremely wary of the Hollywood machine and its tendency to corrupt anything it touches, some of the recent output from "smaller" studios (Netflix, Amazon, cable channels) coupled with their ability to ignore "cinema" realities (like length, MPAA Ratings, etc.) have brought out some truly excellent product. For example, I would never have had any faith that Good Omens could have been done well 10 years ago but the Prime miniseries was very much excellent; though it admittedly was a labor of love by one of the authors. I can't imagine any kind of guarantee of good product anywhere but a good producer, director, and writer could actually do the Vorkosigan series justice today in the non-cinematic channels if they stayed reverent about the source material. If nothing else, at least it's all finished work unlike GoT and some of the other hot pieces. It's also mostly character driven drama so the effects budget wouldn't have to be blockbuster sized to work. I'm not saying I want to see it done but I'm not totally against it like I would have been a decade ago.
