Any more thoughts on the connection between Aragorn & Arwen and Lúthien & Beren versus Tolkien and Edith??

Yesterday i watched The Desolation of Smaug on DVD for the first time {as i didn't go to the cinema to see it}!

I am too impatient and so waiting since Dec. 2013 was a long time...and so i just had to get it on DVD.

No doubt, when the extended version is out i will watch that more than the original!

Any thoughs on hobbit film 2?

Once i have the extended edition...then i tend to watch it rather than the original! Longer perhaps - but i don't mind.

13 minutes! is that all? I have the extended edition on my Birthday wish list, as i did not get it for Christmas. I also haven't had chance to see film 2 yet...but the adverts of it looked really good and so i am very excited!

Welcome Susan!! I am so pleased you have joined the TCBS and that the discussions are interesting and fun :) This group has indeed been asleep for a while...but the Forest shall soon awaken and something is about to happen that hasn't happened in a very long time!

Lets hope your passion for collecting is rekindled and love of all things LOTR!

I have bought the Hobbit film's soundtrack, and love the tunes. Although the 'Misty Mountains' is quite quiet?

I am really looking forward to purchasing the extended DVD version of 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey'! If it is similar to the extended versions for the Lord of the Rings trilogy, then it will be good.
