I’m working on the Shatter Me series personally as I’ve heard it’s supposed to be enemies to lovers but I don’t think I’m at that point yet!

I had a particularly slow reading year, so I didn’t get to read many good enemies to lovers books. I did read Twisted Hate, and I liked it, but I didn’t feel as much chemistry as I was hoping to from the book.
What are y’all’s recs and thoughts?

-You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle (my top fave of the year!)
-The Trouble with Hating You by Sajni Patel
-Covington's Folly by Cindy Holbrook (got it in a Ripped Bodice care package and was pleasantly surprised by it)
-The Book of Two Ways by Jodi Picoult (not a romance novel per-say, but strong enemies-to-lovers vibes)

I would love it too if more people joined this group because it would be great to have more active discussions! This could be partly my fault since I am the moderator, but I knew I really wanted to start a group like this because I couldn't find any others that are centered around the amazing trope. Spread the word about this group and if we grow in numbers, I'll get a co-moderator who'll hopefully make this group more lively and popular!
Also, welcome to the group! We're excited to have you!

Hi and welcome to the group! I don't have any paranormal romance suggestions (I haven't ventured into that yet), but I have a few bully ones.
Bully by Penelope Douglas: It's a pretty popular hs bully story so you may have read it before, but if not, I would def recommend checking it out. There's a lot of tension, steam, and angst! Also, it's part of a series, but I only read this book and am not planning on reading the rest as it does not end in a cliffhanger.
Pretty Reckless by LJ Shen: Another hs bully story. The two leads live together for a while which makes for some good tension! I think this is part of a series as well, but, again, it doesn't end in a cliffhanger so there's no need to continue on.
Hating You by J.L. Beck: This is a college-set bully story. It's a short quick read. There's good banter between the leads in it.
Stepbrother Dearest by Penelope Ward: I love love love this book! I don't know if it would quite fit into this category, but I think that the actions the two characters take against each other could put it in this category. Half the book is set when they were in high school, and the other half is later on as adults. Really the only possible downside is that it's a stepbrother romance (I personally don't have a problem with this, but I know some people do).
Hope this helps and hopefully more people will post recs for you!

Some others that I like (both from tv shows) would be Amy and Jonah from Superstore and Beth and Rio from Good Girls. For Amy and Jonah, they started out disliking each other but quickly started to grow fond of each other's company and became friends, so I'd almost consider them more friends to lovers (still a good couple though). For Beth and Rio, their chemistry was off the charts electric and they'd probably fit better under the enemies to lovers trope, but ultimately they just wouldn't work as a healthy couple (although I haven't seen the new season, so things may have changed).
How about you, @Ginger?

Nothing enemies to lovers at the moment! I am reading a romance novel now though called “Destiny’s Embrace” that does have a good slower-paced romance, but it doesn’t fall into my usual tropes.
And is KU kindle-related, because if so, I still buy physical books instead.

I would recommend reading “The Kiss Thief,” also by LJ Shen, if you haven’t already! Bonus: the cover is jaw-droppingly gorgeous

Is Serpent and Dove a real good enemies-to-lovers story because I've been wanting to read it but I want to make sure that the trope is a big part of the storyline first?

I see that we have now segued from introductions to thoughts on the trope itself. All thoughts are welcome and healthy discourse is welcome. I think I’m gonna start a new thread for this specific debate to continue on.
Everyone, please weigh in!

Hi welcome! This is a brand-new group so it's still trying to find its footing right now, but I'm really glad you started this post for us.
I also love this romance trope; it's definitely my favorite one. I'm newer to the romance genre as a whole, but I've really enjoyed the ones I've read so far and am eager for more recommendations.
My name is Danni and I'm currently a student who has a passion for writing and reading. I love rom-coms and psychological thrillers, and anything that combines a thriller with a romance is right up my alley.
I'm not sure if anyone else is going to introduce themself at this point, but please feel free to do so so we can all get to know each other better and make this group more active!
