1056220 I read The Invention of Hugo Cabret which won the Caldecott award. It is a beautiful story about the beginnings of the making of film. I had to read it for the Battle of the Books as I am the advisor at my elementary school.

1056220 For January I am reading The House Witch by Delemhach. I am really enjoying the fantasy story, I hope to be done with it by the end of January but unfortunately I was late getting started on it. I am an advisor for a middle grade Battle of the books group at my school and have been reading mostly middle grade books for that event.

1056220 For January I read The Mighty Heart of Sunny St. James. It is a middle grade written by Ashley Herring Blake. She is a good author and one where I am trying to read all of her backlist. The book was wonderful.

1056220 Of course it counts! Graphic novels are the best and that book sounds amazing! I am going to read The Mighty Heart of Sunny St. James. It is a middle grade book. I don’t know if I will get it done in January since I am involved with a 4th and 5th grade battle of the books competitition. Before March we have 11 books to read. I am one of the advisors. I am also participating in the Buzzword challenge, TBR knockout, and Read Your Bookshelves. I have picked a book for each challenge for each month, but I may not read them until later in the year. This helps me read a lot of books that are on my bookshelf and EVERY BOOK COUNTS!
