Hey, i finally managed to read one with the group. This is my new favorite novel. The ending left me a little sad that the sequel was never written, but maybe it's for the best.

I have no ideas for nominations, and I'm bad at following through anyway, but I'm going to attempt to read Dante's Divine Comedy for the first time since my son has to read it for school. I've been reading a lot, but mostly just whatever strikes my fancy at any moment. I will probably hit some Daphne du Maurier in October. She's really grown on me.

Oh, man, i don't mean to sidetrack, but i really loved Confederacy of Dunces. I hated it when I first read it at age 20, but revisited it a few years ago and found it hilarious. I guess it's not everyone's cup of tea, but i thought it was fun.
Anyhoo, looking forward to getting started on the Calvino. I read the preface. I felt seen.

This will be my first Calvino, too, although I think i have a novella of his upstairs. Looking forward to it. I hear good things.

I'm starting The Ox-bow incident this evening. Apparently the people who read it really dig it, so I'm excited. Anyone else starting anything fun?

Hi. I like the books you guys are interested in, and also that some of your suggestions are unknown to me.
