Spoilers for Books 1-6 in the Godhunter series throughout this whole discussion

Amy Sumida is what I consider to be a writer of addictive fiction. I first learned of her through a free copy of her first book, Godhunter. Despite being introduced to it during a time where I was job hunting and had limited funds, I proceeded to once click purchase books 2-6 in the series. However, I'm afraid to one click the next book in this series.

In book 2, Vervain gets kidnapped by Anubis, one of the gods of death. What follows is a traumatic book [spoiler alert for triggering topic ahead] (view spoiler)[where Vervain is repeatedly raped and controlled against her will. (hide spoiler)] She escapes at the end, and spends the next book recovering from the experience. Now in Book 5, they hint at Vervain forgiving and fostering a relationship with Sir Rapes-a-Lot(view spoiler)[this includes a sickeningly 'tender' scene with her and Anubis, where she forgives him -_-*, and a scene where he pushes a kiss (hide spoiler)], which understandably gets Trevor upset.

I've read book 6 (which I personally felt was a filler book), but at the end, they hint at a possible relationship between her and Anubis. For those of you who have read ahead in this series, does she get together with him?I won't be able to find any pleasure in continuing this series if this is the case.
