I've been commenting a bit but don't think I introduced myself. My favorite MG authors are Kate DiCamillo, Gary Schmidt, Sharon Creech, Jerry Spinelli, Katherine Paterson, Cynthia Voigt...oh, and a few others. I re-connected with children's fiction through my own kids, and just published my own first middle grade novel, Washashore. I look forward to chatting with you all!

I was inspired by Kate DiCamillo's dual honors last month (named Ambassador for Children's Literature plus Newbery!) to write a blog post about what I learned from her books about writing for kids.
