I always read to escape, escape the laundry, escape the work, escape all the things...
but I must confess I only like a little romance in my escape reading. I love fantasies, and science fiction and mysteries especially with strong and flawed female leads. Kinsey Milhone, is first to mind. Too much romance, leaves me feeling left out lol

I love audiobooks and feel the same way about the narrator. I have returned e-audios because I just couldn't listen to them. My favorite is an actor, Will Patton, https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Will+Patto..., but only for certain types of books. He has a gruff voice with a slight southern twang...
Some audiobooks have two or more narrators, the Wheel of Time series, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Whe..., was like this and made those incredibly long listens even more interesting.
Lately, I have been struggling to pay attention when listening to books though, I find I get distracted and have to go back...is anyone else having trouble concentrating?
