Enjoy!

I hope you'll let your writers group know about Crones With Pens!

Aru's Realm is definitely different! Old-fashioned in some ways, but written with modern awareness. It reminds people of The Wizard of Oz, The Hobbit, and Animal Farm!
You have my friendship to your page now, though. Right? On my end I received confirmation yesterday. FB can be a little strange.
edit: Jane, by the way: Maybe add Golden Ears to this group's Bookshelf (see bottom of main group page.) I have Golden Ears on my TBR list.

Here is a link to my website, which tells about me and about my story Aru's Realm. https://habyrd.com/
I also have a FB author page, and I'd love it if you'd check it out because it doesn't get much traffic! : ) I'm a slow learner when it comes to publicity, apparently. https://www.facebook.com/ArusRealm/
I look forward to interacting with you here and on our pages!
(My pen name is H. A. Byrd, my actual name is Catherine Wesley.)

I'm not feeling my age, either, other than the effects of covid.
I was twelve in 1972 and lived in an old Victorian in Surrey, BC. I had a pony, and my mom ran a small alternative school in our downstairs. Among the happy memories of those days are the views of Golden Ears.
Your book sounds fantastic. What a cool thing to write about. My fantasy novel features grey wolves, also, but I imagine my story is much more "out there," so to speak.
If you use Facebook at all, you might be interested in our group there, and also the associated directory. I'm so thankful though, that you've joined this group on Goodreads, as I'm hoping it will grow!
The best of luck to you! We are happy to have you here.

Welcome to the group, Ellen, and thanks for posting. Your books do look fun!
I know what you mean about the word "elder." Language and our feelings about it say a lot about our society. When we want to describe people middle-aged and older, we don't have much to work with. All this leads to the use of the word "crones!"

If you are an elder woman, please add yours to our list!
Readers, I hope you'll enjoy these blogs!

Aru's Realm is a literary-style story that reads somewhat like an old-time fantasy novel, but has powerful female characters and a contemporary awareness.
It's a fun and artful journey. Every chapter brings a different color to mind.

Also, feel free to add your book to our group's "Bookshelf." >>>>>

If you happen to be a woman of middle age or older who has a blog or some books to showcase, well then this is a place to do so!
Please post your introduction in this thread if you'd like to include a short bio here in this group, or if you'd like to introduce yourself as a reader.
