114966 I tried to read this book but quit by the third chapter. In general I am never satisfied by nonfiction books, so I can't give you an accurate account. I never made it to the hope/ideas/inspiration portion of the book. Anybody care to teach me something?

114966 A bit off topic, but while watching the show "Orange is the New Black", I noticed the main character was reading "Gone Girl" during her quiet time. Funny!
114966 Hi, I'm Courtney and I love the way J.K. developed these characters. Robin starts out so in love with her proposal that it is easy for her to overlook the smallish ways that Matthew is disrespectful until they start adding up. This is very similar to real life when a man tries so hard in the beginning of a relationship and relaxes once he has secured the girl. I think there was a forced intimacy between Striker and Robin with the breast grab on the first day and who can help but fall for Striker with his adorable rumpled-ness and strength/vulnerability balance. Most people are opposed to this idea, but I see romance in the distant future, should this series continue. Will it continue, has anyone heard?

114966 I still don't totally understand why he hired the detective- the insurance money alone or the ego. Help!
I read so fast because I was excited and I think I must have missed something.

114966 OK, I picked up Gone Girl at the library and said to my self, "I'll just read the first chapter." 6 hours later I finished it and then slept through my alarm this morning! It was worth it. This book taught me to spend less time judging characters and trying to guess the twist, just enjoy the way the story unfolds.

114966 I loved the book, it was easy to read and digest and I felt relaxed about J.K. Rowling being the author, as opposed to the way I felt when I was reading "The Casual Vacancy"(which was, thank God, J.K. wrote again!) I would like to chat about the ending, once folks have reached that point! I hate the fiance. I want to be Strike's friend.
