1167739 This month I managed to knock 5 of the books off my backlog shelf (from the early Netgalley days of requesting everything, then lockdown and kids entering my life!)

The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom - 5 stars, my review

To The Bright Edge of the World by Eowyn Ivey - 4 stars, my review

More (The MORE Trilogy, #1) by T.M. Franklin - 3 stars, my review

Sky (The Huntress Trilogy, #2) by Sarah Driver - 3.75 stars, my review

I Know Where She Is by S.B. Caves - 3.75 stars, my review

And 3 current reviews (published in March and April)

The Hymn to Dionysus by Natasha Pulley - 5 stars, my review

House of Blight (The Threadmender Chronicles, #1) by Maxym M. Martineau - 4 stars, my review

Gifted & Talented by Olivie Blake - 5 stars, my review

I've got my ratio up to 76% and have 14 to go to reach 80%. I'd like to reach that by the end of June, then I'll work on clearing the other 60 or so from my outstanding list!

1167739 I've never read a book like this before, but it was witty and dark and dysfunctional and brilliant:

Gifted & Talented
Gifted & Talented by Olivie Blake

1167739 I just read House of Blight

House of Blight (The Threadmender Chronicles, #1) by Maxym M. Martineau

A gothic romantasy with a dysfunctional family and deadly disease - it hooked me at first, slowed down a little in the middle, then had me gripped for the last third!

1167739 How long have you been on NG?
2013

How many books have you read/reviewed?
255 reviewed

What is your current review ratio?
75% - I'm working hard on pushing it up to 80%!

As a rough guess, how many books do you get approved from as a percentage of total books requested?
I think I've been declined for around 15-20% of books.

How many or how often do you get books you 'wished' for?
Looking back through my emails, I've had 3 granted, but I'm not sure how many I've wished for.

How many or how often do you get offered widgets?
I don't check every email from Netgalley (as I'll request too many if I do!), so I'm not very sure about this, but one or two a month maybe?

How many, if any, publishers are you auto-approved for?
None at the moment!

I used to be auto-approved for two or three, but I took a break from Netgalley for around 4 years (lockdown and I had kids), and during that time, the auto-approvals disappeared. I'm back reviewing again now, so hopefully I'll get auto-approved by some again in future, although right now, I'd prefer not to so I can get my ratio up above 80%!
I did the same as other reviewers and requested a lot in the early days and some I didn't download before the archive date. I'm catching up on some (very!) old ones on there now with a goal to clear at least 50% of the list (around 30-40 books) by the end of the year.
