Darling and
Spinner are my favorite retellings :)

Harry Potter but Cursed Child or Marauders era so that I wouldn't have to deal with the Battle of Hogwarts

I was going to hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters but I'm sick and I don't want to get the kiddos sick :(

I'll pretty much read anything but if I know beforehand that a book doesn't deal with a triggering subject in a respectful way then I'll avoid that book

I hand out candy for trick or treaters every year, but my favorite fall tradition is going to all the pop-up halloween stores on November 1st and buying clearance costumes :D

I can't stand The Odyssey. Brings back to many bad memories of my awful English teacher who didn't help us understand it then got mad when we couldn't tell her perfectly what it was about. It was literally a classic written in verse and I was 15 yet she hated us for not understanding it :/

If it's a popular book or part of a series that I own the rest of the books of, then I keep it on my shelves, but not on my favorite books shelf. If it's not popular or part of a series, I either try and sell it at my local bookstore, donate it to a charity shop, or put it in a little library

I'm not a fan of fake dating. I feel like it isn't always written well in books and sometimes it's too cheesy and unrealistic

I read for escape mostly. I have some health issues, so reading is often the only time I can feel joy in a day. Sometimes characters can inspire me to keep trying to get better, too. It doesn't even have to be a character with a health issue, but characters like Katniss or Tris, who overcome so many challenges, make me feel like I can overcome my challenges, too, and that feeling that I get from the characters makes me want to keep reading.

Harry Potter and The Hunger Games

Hi, I'm Shawna. My pronouns are she/her. I've been addicted to books ever since I was a little kid :)
