1176148 It looks as though I will NOT finish this challenge, as I foolishly left the longest book to the end. With the holidays and everything, I didn't get as much time to read it as I had hoped. Oh well. I missed my yearly goal as well, but I still had a fun year of reading, and that's what really counts.

No, I haven't read that one yet, but I have enjoyed everything of his that I've read so far. I'll have to check that one out.

I ended up moving to Then She Was Gone, because I wasn't really in the mood for Small Island; it seems like an easy read so far. Glad to hear that NOS4A2 moves quickly, since I left it until the very last, lol.

1176148 Only two books remain for me to finish this challenge. I'm hopeful I can get them both done before the end of the year, even though one of them is super long!

I do love Stephen King, and I have read some of Joe Hill's work, so I hope NOS4A2 is good. I hope I can read the rest of the books on my main list, and not have to use any more alternates.

1176148 I tried reading The God of Small Things, but realized I just wasn't feeling it. I switched to Three Junes, which was one of my alternates. It was okay, but not something I'll remember for a long time or anything. I'm hoping that the last few books on this list are good, as I've read a lot of books this year that were just okay.

1176148 Finally, finally, got through I Am Pilgrim. What a long book! It was a pretty good read, although it might not have needed to be so long, and there was one big plot development that hinged on a rather huge coincidence. Still, a decent read.

1176148 I've gotten a bit off-track with this challenge, but I just finished my third book, Beautiful Ruins. I mostly enjoyed it, but found there were a few too many storylines to keep track of. Even though it all comes together in the end, there were characters here I was much more interested in than others. Oh well, on to the next.

1176148 Finished Left Neglected, for my first book of the year. Not bad, but I just couldn't connect with any of the characters, especially the protagonist, Sarah. This took away from my enjoyment of the book, but learning about her cognitive challenges was still interesting.

1176148 Thanks everyone for the welcome back. Still finalizing my list, but will have it in the next couple of day. Stay tuned!

1176148 Hello everyone!

I'm Karen, and I'm from Ontario, Canada. I read pretty widely, and have a soft spot for mysteries and thrillers. The only genres I really can't get into are romance and fantasy.

I'm happy to be a part of this new group, and am looking forward to talking books with all of you!
