118546 It was at the shade of the when the two survivors collapsed to the damp floor, to exhausted to take another step. The coolness of the forest floor was like heaven after the burning heat of the wreck. The girl closed her eyes and tears started running down her face. Ori looked away, feeling like he was intruding on private moment. Despite everything that happened, he still couldn’t believe it. Still couldn’t process it. “Thank you” The quiet, croaked voice of the girl broke the silence. Ori tried to respond but nothing but air could come out. Instead, he just not nodded, looking back to the devastated girl who was now curled up into a ball and looked at the crash in a dreamlike state. She looked back towards him, tears in her eyes but no longer running down her face. “Are you okay? Are you hurt?” The girl asked, her voice slightly less raspy. This time, he could make out some words. “I will live” Ori, barley recognised his own voice. It was raspy and deep lot deeper than usual. He looked down at his leg, it stopped bleeding but it was still covered in blood. “I think”. He let out a small chuckle, his chest burning in process and forcing to end in a fit of coughs. The girl was looking at the crash again, he wasn’t sure if she heard anything he said. He knew what she was thinking about. Ori, crawled over to where she was sitting and plopped down beside her, getting her attention. The girl looked to him surprised. He smiled darkly. “You know, I don’t know anyone who could have done what you did.” Ori started, his voice was slowly becoming normal again, but still sounded strange. “To lose someone like you did and still have the strength and courage to get out of something like that, you are stronger than anyone I know.” He paused, letting what he said soak in for a second. “Your Dad would have been so proud.”

The girl looked surprised, how did this stranger know about her Dad? “Ah, I’m sorry, I heard you calling out for him. No one out cries like that unless you lost someone, I should know”. Ori looked to the floor, remembering what it was like when he lost his mother. He shook is head, it thumped back, making him wince. There is no point in thinking about that now.
“I don’t think I introduced myself, My name is Orlando, my friends call me Ori.” He stuck out his hand. "I hope we can get through this together".

118546 Darkness surrounded Ori as he struggled through the thick smoke, he could barely see 3 metres ahead of him. He started to cough harshly, the smoke pouring into his lungs, even with the shirt he used to cover his mouth. If he didn’t hurry, he was sure that the smoke would kill him. Every part of Orlando’s body was screaming at him to stop, to just collapse on the floor and let the darkness finish him off. It would be so much easier. The single thought rung through his head and almost took him whole, then he remembered the desperate, heart wrenching cries of the girl and a little of his strength returned. I am not going to die here for nothing, not when I can save someone. The smoke was consuming Ori, surrounding him, choking him and leaving him weaker with every step, he felt like he was hobbling to his own death.
CRUNCH
Something squished and snapped under Orlando’s foot, the new sound echoing its way through the black wasteland. He looked down, his hearing beating in his ears. His face paled. There on the ground was a severed arm, just laying in the sand, blood oozing from the part where the rest of the body should have been. Ori scrambled away in fright, trying to get as far away from the gruesome sight as possible. But it was already burned into his brain, the sound of the bones breaking played in his head over and over again. The bright red of the blood, the only colour he had seen in what felt like forever felt like it was following him, calling out for his blood to join it. A moment of realisation hit Ori like a truck. He stopped dead in his tracks. He ran away from the path, he was turned around. He was lost in a cloud of death. His coughs were more violent now, he was scared of what would happen if he stayed any longer. Ori looked around wildly No no no no no no no no, fuck FUCK! There has to be something, think!
There was a loud groaning sound that seemed to echo from everywhere followed by a loud crash of something heavy hitting sand. It was almost deafening. A bright red light glowed in front of Ori, it seemed to be moving. A wave of burning hot ashes streaking from whatever crashed. Ori whipped round quickly to his right, his mind working fast. If that is from the plane then this is the way out. I can either go this way and risk being scored by the embers or run away and die from smoke. He made his decision, limping wildly and fast as he could to the right, the embers getting closer every second. Ori’s throat tightened from the strain of running with his already smoke-filled lungs. His injured started to bleed from the strain but he could not stop, not now. He held on to the hope that he will not die for nothing. The embers were close now, making sweat pour out of every pore, but the smoke was also getting less thick and Ori saw the end of the wave of fire. He could make it. He was almost out. But this island didn’t like hope and Ori didn’t see the ditch before it was too late. The split second of falling was almost tranquil, he didn’t feel any pain, he almost felt like he was flying. Then, his injured leg hit the ground and everything came back like a truck. He almost fainted, spots covering his vision as the embers got closer. He managed to turn his head, but not quite fast enough and the left side of his face got scorched by the flaming embers. The pain was unbearable as the flecks burned his face. Ori slammed his head into the sand, rubbing his face furiously to put out the flames. Everything ached, his vision was blinded by tears. Ori brought up his hand to his face, feeling the marks where the embers hit. It wasn’t pretty, his cheeks felt lumpy and blistered while his forehead felt try and dead. He was almost positive half of his face looked like Freddy Kruger. He lied down in the sound, looking forward towards the light. He can almost see the outline a person stumbling along the sand. The figure stumbled and fell, leaving a wake of particles lingering in the air. Is it the girl? It can’t be. Ori needed to see, he came all this way, went through so much. What is a few more steps? He stood up one last time. Every part of him throbbed in pain but he pushed on. His heart beat faster, every thing was almost in slow motion as he pushed through the smoke and saw a girl, probably in her mid to young 20’s lying almost unconscious on the sand. Right away Ori could tell it was her, the screaming girl. He could see it in the pain in her face, the tears in her eyes. The same kind of face he used to see in the mirror. Everything else felt out of focus, she was all that mattered at the moment. It wasn’t a love thing, it was an understanding. Ori attempted to wake her up.
“Help me” he heard her murmur.
“I will”, his voice sounded strange, as if he had grown up slightly in the last 5 minutes. It was also raspy and dry, they needed water and bad. He looked towards the forest. That is the best chance we have. He tried to hoist her up more and the girl became awake enough to hold herself up. They limped together, slowly and painfully towards the forest, hoping to god that they will for once have some good luck. After the first few steps he saw a badly damaged backpack and stopped to pick it up. “See, things are already looking up”. And they hobbled along, two people who have never met, yet already know each other more then anyone else.

((sorry for the wait and how long it is))

118546 As Orlando hobbled slowly towards where the cries once were, his mind finally processed everything that had happened and a feeling of dread passed through his entire being. A crash this big would have attracted people already, but there wasn’t anyone else in sight. They were alone here. Wherever here was. Ori’s usually rational mind turned off and he started to panic, breathing hard and looking around wildly. He spun around, there has to be other people, they just still arrive, we don’t know how long it’s been. Ori’s breaths were hitching now. He spluttered, coughed and stumbled around like a madman searching for some desperate excuse that everything was going to be okay. He tripped over a hot piece of hot metal and screamed out in pain as he fell. Fine sand filled his mouth and eyes while his legs felt aflame from the burning scrap. I writhed around, gripping his leg in pure agony. This can’t be real! But he knew it was, he couldn’t imagine pain like this is a dream. He started to choke on the sand but managed to cough enough out to breathe. He let out a scream that shouldn’t be able to come out of a person. Tears welled in his eyes, all of his energy was drained. Now there is was just a grown man, lying on the beach in the fetal position and almost crying. He felt pathetic, he should just give up now. He really didn’t have a reason to live. “What is the point?”

Orlando’s mind clear and in a short moment of clarity he remembered the cries of the girls, dad she screamed. He remembered himself crying out for his mother like that when she died. That girl could be the same. Some energy flooded back into him. He knew what it was like to loose someone you love. He needed to save her, not just from the smoke but from her own mind. He stood up once more, his leg screaming out in protest and he limped wildly forward into the black smoke.

118546 The first thing Ori felt when he awoke was pain, unmeasurable, searing pain that seemed to consume him whole. He couldn’t feel anything else, the world was a swirl of spots and there was nothing but ringing in his ears. He took a few deep breaths collecting himself, focusing on where the pain was on his body. His vision started to clear and he started to make out a clear sky with a blaring sun, there also seemed to be two plumes of smoke rising towards the heavens, one relatively close, the other far off to the east. “Where am I?” His voice was raspy and he started to notice a metallic taste in his mouth. He knew it wouldn’t do him any good to sit up right away so continued to lay down and breath slowly. Trying to remember what he was doing before this. His mind clicked, he was on a plane. But that still didn’t answer is question. Curiosity got the better of him and he started to sit up slowly, his head stabbing with pain with every movement he made. He touched his hand to his head, blood. A concussion, he though. Just a concussion, he couldn’t see any blood anywhere else.
He finally managed to sit up and take in his surroundings, a large chunk of twisted metal lay burning no less then 50 meters from him, he can barley make out the shape of a plane when he realised what had happened. His jaw dropped and his breathing sped up. There was no way, that was possible, it had to be a joke… right? I know I wanted to get away from everything but… fuck, this isn’t what I meant. He shook his head, his head sending a large throb of pain in protest. Calm down you idiot, be rational, go through the facts.

1. Our plane crashed, that means our belongs crashed with us as well as the food for the flight.
2. We are on a beach, from the looks of it an island, that doesn’t mean there isn’t anyone else.
3. There are other passengers, if I am alive there is a good chance there is others.

Ori made up his mind, he needed to find someone else. The ringing in his ears started to die down when he hears screams “DAD! DAD!” what sounded like a girl screaming the same thing over and over again. It took four times before Orlando was successfully able to stand up and it took another couple of minutes before he actually took his first steps on this unknown island. The girls screams has stopped but he remembers where they came from and began to stumble towards where the sounds were, hoping to find that whoever it was, was still alive.

Personality
Analytical | Clever | Manipulative | Paranoid | Can be caring
Orlando is a person who thinks to much. He overanalyses everything and can make some poor or seemingly selfish decisions at times but will also never go into something without knowledge and a plan. This makes him careful and efficient, almost always getting the job done (if he accepts the job). He isn’t selfish per sei but when he sees an opportunity to better his own survival, he will take it, this includes manipulating other people. Knowing what some people can do in desperate situations, he is paranoid of the other survivors but knows he need to work with them to survive.

History
Orlando grew up in a small town outside of Melbourne, his family was poor and had to work long hours on a farm just to stay in their house and pay for food. They didn’t have much time for Ori but when they did, they would all go fishing together at a small lake close the farm. When Ori was 7 his mother, Liane, got very ill from being overworked and stressed. His dad, Mark, not earning enough to support the family resorted to robbing stores. Orlando tried his hardest as well, studying furiously so he can get a scholarship at a boarding school so his dad can focus on his mum.

Orlando got the scholarship when he was 10 and went off to study at a boarding school in Melbourne. After a few months living in Melbourne his father was caught robbing a pharmacy and was sent to jail for 15 years, this forced Ori to stay at the school full time, as he had no one else to look after him. With no one to pay for the expensive hospital bill his mother got transferred to a public hospital, where she got even more sick, eventually dying a year later.

He received a note after she died, stating that the nurse looking after his mother was slowly poisoning her. He tried to go to the police but no one believed him. They said he was just grieving the loss of his mother and making excuses. Angered by the polices lack of investigating he did the only thing he knew how to do, he learned why.

After countless years of research and studying he was accepted into university and eventually graduated with a masters in Criminal Psychology, he had the standings now to make the accusation, now he just needed evidence. It took another 3 years before the nurse was prosecuted, he was 24 now and just realised he dedicated the last 12 years of his life for this moment. He didn’t know what else to do, so he just kept going with his job but still never really feeling any passion for it. He was lost. He tried dating but nothing ever lasted for very long.

His dad got released from jail one year later, but no one would hire him for work because of his criminal record. He ended up living with Orlando while getting drunk almost every night. Ori realised that the man who came out of jail was not the caring, hardworking father that he once knew. He grew to hate the man his father became, but still cared for him the way the man he was once cared for Ori. Orlando hid himself way at work to escape the drunken mess and he came to enjoy the work that kept him busy for half of his life.

This continued on for many years until eventually, he just had to get away from his drunken father, so he booked a trip to LA and so the story continues.

He was going to a lecture and after a road trip around USA
