118779 Hi guys! I've been off my reading for a week or so....been sewing baby supplies for a co-worker. I have read The Help, but wouldn't mind revisiting it. I couldn't get into it the last time I read it. I went and saw the movie and called it good. I am always drawn to historical (fiction or otherwise) so the one Bridgett posted looks good as well. (The Remnants). Have a blessed Easter!!

118779 (SPOILER ALERT) I have finished "All The Bright Places." What a beautiful, tender, and sad story. I expected teenage angst, I was pleasantly surprised by how truly real this story is. I work at a public school, and have lost students to car accidents, and to suicide. I have seen the sadness and emptiness in the eyes of the friends and siblings left behind. I cried as I finished this book, and felt the shortness of breath that Violet felt as she finished up their wanderings.

118779 Absolutely!! I have to get used to checking these message boards. I'm afraid I'm not very good at finding all the new posts. I am next in line on the library wait list, so I'm all set!!

118779 I think this choice sounds great! I'll try harder to chime in at the end of the month, for April!! :)

118779 The description sounds a bit like "A Man Called Ove"....where he's always trying to find ways to die, but keeps finding necessary good deeds that are more important! Can't wait to start it.

118779 I read this book in one evening, and enjoyed it despite its genre being one I wouldn't normally read!! I am thankful for book clubs for this reason, they encourage me to broaden my typical reading scope.

118779 I am sorry I missed this discussion ladies!! I will see a thread once, and then not remember where I saw it, and I lose track. :( I have picked up February's book. Definitely going to be a stretch for me, but off we go!!! Happy reading. :)

118779 I enjoyed this book! I liked getting to know and understand the characters, and especially enjoyed the ending. The twists in the story were just enough to keep me reading, as I read it in just three sittings.

I realize this is an old post, but I recognized the cover of a book I just picked up. Did you read this? (Sing you Home), and what did you think of it?

118779 I am finding it interesting and enjoyable. At 55%, and am eager to see how it all ties together! Love the characters.

118779 Read the first half in just a couple of evenings. I am curious about how it will all tie together, and am enjoying the story. Also enjoying the symbolism so far....the house that is slowly falling into the ocean. Interesting.

118779 Hello Book-a-holics! I looked and looked for a group that was adult, and simply loves to read and discuss good books. I knew I was on the right page when I checked this group and "ta-da!!" the book I am currently reading is also your current selection.
My name is Julie, and I live in western Michigan, along the shores of Lake Michigan. I work at the local middle school with students who have physical or cognitive impairments. I find the work difficult and rewarding. Thus....reading is my outlet. I hope I can find some fellow avid readers here, who love discussing what we've read.
