Oh thank you! I hope you enjoy them :D I can't wait to add a 4th book to the series. It might be a bit though. I still have a lot to work out in my head, before I re-start the writing. Should be fun, though.

1190135 Hey, what would you think of adding a work-in-progress or future-releases category to the bookshelf? It would be nice to know what everyone’s currently working on. :)

1190135 GENRE/SubGenre - YA Fantasy / Epic Fantasy
BOOK TITLE - Kings of Muraine
DISCLAIMER - N/A

What starts out as a mystery on a world with magic turns into a deadly game of cat-and-mouse between Tyler Ravier and his adversaries. He never knows what they'll do next.

Tyler Malik Ravier always thought he was ordinary, until the night of his fourteenth birthday. It’s been a year to the day since his dad, Lance, died. The new reality has set in, and it’s crushing Tyler. He wonders how he’ll be able to bear it.

That night, something startles Tyler awake. His senses are starting to sharpen. Two strangers have arrived from another world: Muraine. To his shock, Tyler learns that Muraine is where his father was from. The land of Paragon, specifically. The two visitors have brought him LanSoren’s dragon-horse, Awngeleik. Still young and brash, she’s in grave danger on Muraine. The Vitiosyn King, Zymarc, demands that she be given over. But these Paragonians refuse to do so. Tyler doesn’t understand why they refuse. At first, he doesn’t care much either. He’s simply consumed with the anger that his father never confessed the truth to him, while living. And, now, Tyler’s given the task of finding his father’s hidden belongings, while also tending to Awngeleik. What could go wrong?

Much, it seems. It’s a whirlwind of events, shortly after Tyler makes it to Muraine. He is searching for his father’s killer, but a war is brewing. He may not have time to unravel the mystery of what happened to LanSoren, before going home.

What truths and what dangers wait, lurking for Tyler to find? Join him in The Journals of Ravier series to find out.

1190135 Hello everyone! I’m J.R. Vaineo, but I usually just go by Julie (she/her).

I’m primarily a fantasy author, but I try to read 13 books a year and I will give any genre a chance at least once. I’m not a fan of horror. Post-apocalyptic isn’t for me either. I’m a bit behind on the reading and the writing, at the moment. Thank goodness it’s only June, right? There’s still time to catch up. I’m working on my 4th book in my The Journals of Ravier series.

Soon, I’ll be rolling out the digital boxed set for ACT I (books 1 – 3). I’ve waited to have this trio for quite some time. That 3rd book about killed me to write. The finish wasn’t easy. If I had to describe my books in one word it would be: unpredictable.

What I look for in the fiction books I read is realism. I want to see true emotions. I want characters who act in a realistic way. Expansive world-building is just a bonus. Give me an excellent cast of characters and you’ll steal me away from my work. You’ll keep me up at night, until I literally can’t stay awake to turn one more page. That is, if I go to bed with some energy left for reading. I’m a bit of a night owl . . .

My hobbies include sewing and painting (watercolors). Now that my craft room is organized for productivity, I’ve already finished a few projects. Baby and pet blankets, mostly. I’m quite excited for my next project. Mini outfits of what my main characters wear. Eek! Coats and cloaks and Arkiveis robes (think “a new take on wizard robes”). It’s going to be such fun!

I hope to connect with some really great readers and authors here. I’m sure I will. If you have any questions for me, please ask. :) Sorry in advance if I’m slow to respond. Life can be hectic at times. And this summer is no exception.

Take care!
Julie

Next Chapter is a publishing house. :) I hadn't heard of them, until finding Cynthia's Dark Fey trilogy.
