It might surprise you to hear that I'm actually reading this for the first time, myself. I've really enjoyed reading/teaching Austen's other novels
Mansfield Park and
Northanger Abbey, and I love the film and TV adaptations of this novel. So I'm really looking forward to reading it at last.

I'm the host, so I'll get the ball rolling. I'm here because I'm trying an experiment in 2023 with opening my classroom teaching to friends who've always told me they wanted to read more 'serious' books like literary fiction, old and new -- and to read them with other people in a casual, pressure-free kind of way.
The classic I'd most like to read next is
Bleak House by Charles Dickens, because I loved the BBC miniseries (Gillian Anderson! Charles Dance!) -- and frankly Dickens intimidates me.

Say a little about who you are, why you're here, and (if you're inclined) name any classic book/author you haven't read that you're most curious about.
