Depending on if you don't mind some fantasy/paranormal and some why choose tropes in your dark romance, I would say the
Dark Fae series is pretty good. The men are still a little toxic and possessive but the FMC isn't captive and has a lot of agency in the plot. I also really liked
Butcher & Blackbird where both protagonists are serial killers who decide to play a game of one-upping against each other.

Here are some more possibilities either gathered by me or someone else:

I still saw this majestic cover reveal by Kimberly Lemming.
. It's not on Goodreads yet, but the author posted it on her social media accounts.
Galia wrote: "I once read a Jason Momoa inspired fic set in a MC, Fearless by Lauren Gilley, if anyone has any similar recs… i'm all ears. Need me some Jason Goodies.👂
Preferably a slice of life, as I prefer Rea..."None of these I've actually read, but I found these suggestions. They're a mix of contemporary and fantasy:
Welcome to the Dark Side,
Den of Vipers,
Savage Lands,
Dark Lover,
Astray,
The Golden Dynasty,
Let Me Love You,
Mountain Man,
Silver Silence,
When a Girl Loves an Earl,
Truth or Beard,
Gone Too Deep,
Savaged.

I've tried to get the Mead Mishaps series several times as our monthly pick and failed. Since it's now out via Orbit maybe I'll have better luck. I plan to keep trying till we get it.
I'm also putting
Butcher & Blackbird,
Three Kings,
Preferential Treatment,
Morning Glory Milking Farm,
Tentacles and Teeth,
Ten Count, Vol. 1, &
Obsidian Feathers here so I don't forget about these options.

I'm often asking for recommendations for our monthly reads. I try to remember or write them down as I receive them. But sometimes I still forget or lose where I wrote it down. I'm making this an official place to send in suggestions so I can keep them in one permanent place.

I was thinking of adding another spicy manga to our book picks and I'm leaning toward something in the yaoi/M+M/BL genre. So far I've got
and
as potentials. If we wanted to be REALLY interesting there's also
. If anyone has a preference or other manga (yaoi or otherwise) to suggest let me know.

Hi spicy readers! Firstly, I just learned that there is a Vagina Museum in London, UK. Secondly, the museum is doing a feminist lecture series. Thirdly, on Monday, February 26th there will be an online lecture titled "READING MAKES ME HORNY: Feminist Publishing & Masturbatory Reading". There's a suggested donation to purchase a ticket but they use a "Pay What You Can" system. It doesn't list the time yet but remember to adjust it to your current time zone. You can find more information about it here on the museum's event page:

This month's pick is a bit unusual. It was not the original pick for this month but the group was okay reading it anyways. The story is a mixture of horror, fantasy, and m/m romance. It's a translation of a popular Chinese danmei novel (similar to Japanese BL genre) set in a xianxia (Chinese historical fantasy) type world. There's no spice in the first volume and the romance is complicated and a slow burn.
There's a beautiful comic adaptation and a great live-action adaptation from China available via Netflix and Viki. Although, due to Chinese censorship the couple are turned into "sworn brothers". There's also a "Special Edition" version you can watch on YouTube that heavily edits the series to only focus on the two main characters.
