This has been a great chat. I signed up when I saw Deborah Crombie on the list, and while I was waiting I started some Inspector Rutledge books. 2 down and into the third. A new addiction! Looking forward to Deborah's new one in Sept. And next up is checking out Rhys' series! Thanks for your time, you busy authors.

Deborah: I am an unabashed Anglophile and consumer of British mysteries/detective literature. A great pleasure in reading your books is that each is told in the context of an interesting and unique time - place - cultural moment (narrow boats, for example!). These all go on my lists of things to investigate when I next go to the UK. I'd love to know your process for choosing where to fix the next book, and how you go about your research. Thank you, and keep them coming! P.S. I read many of them as audiobooks on my walks with my dog. The narrators have for the most part been excellent - and being read to stretches out the pleasure - keeps me from reading too fast for plot points, and instead focused on the unfolding of the whodunnit, character relationships, and setting.
