both deaths advanced the plot

he kind of did need to be killed, so that joyce could have a romantic arc with hopper

1. over loved is steve, dustin, and billy- he shouldn't even have to be put here people just like him cuz the actor is hot like are we forgetting he's a racist abuser 😭 him sacrificing himself doesn't change that 😭

2. over hated is mike I love him sm and when you look at him through the lens of teenagehood, internalized homophobia, and trauma, he's literally an amazing character

I liked her in 4, I think shes had a really great character arc. I also like her in 2 shes such a diva

I just think El dying would be really unsatisfying, and I used to think it would be an interesting parallel to season 1 when she "dies" but like...you cant end a character's arc by having them be where they started
