I have seen Anita Shreve and Elizabeth Berg labeled as chick lit and it made me so mad. I don't even care much for "women's fiction" - to me it says the book should not be taken seriously because it might be about "women's problems". I like chick lit in the form of Marian Keyes, but Kinsella got to be too much and I had to stop. Chick lit can be a bridge book - when you've read something so serious or that ripped your heart out of your chest, that you have to read something light, airy and er, maybe even vapid.

I raved about it for days....and lucked into following it with Flight of the Silvers. Lexicon was so supremely unique, it caught me on the first page and did not let me go until the final page.

Just one?? Ugh, I read so many great ones last month. Flight of the Silvers by Daniel Price was phenomenal, as was Lexicon by Max Barry. I don't typically read that much science fiction, but those two were pretty good, not sure that I completely classify Lexicon as scifi, but...it's close. I also enjoyed Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell.
