129784 I always post to Amazon and have never had a problem with using this tagline at the end of my reviews:

Thank you to the publisher (publisher name) who provided an advance reader copy via NetGalley.

Several years ago I had to take care of elderly family members with end of life issues and I couldn't keep up with all my arcs. I decided to go in and "write a review" anyway on each book I couldn't get around to reading explaining that due to having to be a caregiver, etc. etc....and that took the books off my ratio. I guess you could do that with the "Will Not Be Giving Feedback" method also. I am currently at 87% on NetGalley and I have become very stringent about what books I will request/download. That is because I have been enjoying the delights of my free public library's digital library where they will order every single book I ask for!

You might receive emails from NetGalley from time to time directly from publishers via their marketing personnel offering you a book to read and review. It will have an actual picture of the bookcover. However, when you click on this cover it automatically takes you to the NetGalley site and the book is added to your Shelf. So you have to be careful about clicking on the book cover if you still haven't decided whether you want to read this book. Myself and many others have learned this from experience! You might not want to read the books that are offered. What I do is I just go to NetGalley on my own and look up the book, or investigate it on Goodreads first to see if I might want to read it. If I'm not interested I just file the email in a folder I keep for NetGalley in case I might change my mind.

So, in summation the most important thing to know is that a widget is a picture of a book cover that if you click on it will automatically add the book to your NetGalley Shelf, and you will have to read and review it.

Hi, Fin- I just wanted to let you know that I have a Kindle Fire HD10 and it has gone through a couple of software updates since I first purchased it a year or two ago. Things have changed back and forth as to how you view these documents. When I first got the device they were co-mingled when you tapped "Books" from the menu at the top of the Fire screen. Then it changed one day and I too could not find my documents from NetGalley. Then I discovered that I had a new app on my Kindle Fire home screen called "Docs" or something. It looked like two pages colored orange and white. Now a software update came through just the other day confusing everything once again! Now both the Books menu from the top of the screen and the Docs app on the home screen are gone; in its place is the Kindle app on the home screen! I tapped it last night and both my books and advance reader copies/documents from NetGalley are intermingled again...under the Kindle app. Hope this helps!

Yes, Renee, my review for this book in addition to two other amazon product purchases that I reviewed all got approved last evening...two days late. Better late than never! :-)

Hi, Dorie! Yes, last evening I finally got the confirmation email that my review for this was posted. In addition, I got two other emails for other products I purchased from amazon that I had reviewed on the same day. They just must be more sluggish over there with processing reviews. :-)

129784 Yes, Marilyn and Sarah, I always include the disclosure of where I received the arc. Sometimes I make it the first line of the review, and sometimes the last. I'm not sure if it matters which way...

Wow, what an unusual experience! It just annoys me that I'm sticking to my part of the bargain and I'm getting roadblocks to a timely posting of my review. It makes us look like we're not doing our job!

Well, that's encouraging. I actually got a confirmation email last week for a book I reviewed like six months ago...which is insane!

In fact, I reviewed a couple of products I purchased from Amazon yesterday, and those didn't post either!

129784 I wonder if anyone else is having a problem posting a review on Amazon for the book Daughter of Moloka'i Daughter of Moloka'i (Moloka'i #2) by Alan Brennert . The book came out on February 19th (yesterday) and I'm never late posting a review. I submitted my review to amazon early yesterday afternoon and it's over 24 hours later and I still haven't gotten the email from Amazon thanking me for my review...and it's not there. In fact, last time I checked there were only 4 reviews...3 of them from Amazon Vine Reviewers. I'm sure a lot of us read that book and reviewed it, so I thought I'd throw it out there to see if any of you tried posting your review to Amazon. Thanks.

129784 Hi, Dorie- Yes, I guess you could say that! I requested too many books, digging deep on NetGalley when my requests were at a standstill, being ignored. Then I got a little bogged down for May. Out of the several books I have to read for May, I'm only excited about one of them that I really, really wanted to read. To me, 3 stars is a book I liked, so I don't consider it a bad thing. However, it also means that if I wasn't reading it for NetGalley, I might have dropped it. 4 stars I really liked it and 5....I love it!
