50x66 Sad! Sad! Sad! This author is just absolutely great at what he does, and no one could say anything different. This book had me laughing, crying back and forth. I am a crybaby though when it comes to certain things though. It takes on focusing on cancer, death, loss of sight, loved ones, love period and every other emotion you could think of. I had a great time reading the book and trying to put myself in each characters situation.

50x66 Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children was pretty entertaining, different and just very well put together. This story is like science, fiction, horror all rolled into one. I liked the fact that I could see the photos described rather than just visualize (which I have absolutely no problem with). I’m not completely sure how I would incorporate this book into my or any classroom, but I did enjoy reading something out of the box for me.

50x66 Pretty neat and different styled book to read. I would’ve never thought that all of these things happened or could put myself in this family’s places. It is full of antics, and shows the importance of family and really goes into telling what had happened in Birmingham in 1963. Very important read for children, enlightens the Civil rights movement.

50x66 I really enjoyed reading this book. I had never heard of this particular book before and it really did have me crying at the end. It was sad, but oh so touching. I heard it was boring or weird but I found it heart whelming. Toby had dealt with a lot of problems and his character was very relatable towards. Great book and great meaning behind this book.

50x66 So I haven’t got to completely finish this novel, but because we went over this book in class I thought I’d write a response over my feelings and thoughts over this book. So far this book holds as a great attention getter. This book gives strong family values and very relatable. This gives a very positive outlook on this family’s ultimate goal as a whole. I really do wish this book had pictures to help me visualize. I do know the ending already, but I am going to continue the journey of reading this piece of historical literature.

50x66 This book was a really neat book to just sit and read—with its great character development and plot. The book is all about three boys, Zachary, Cal and Toby. Zachary Beaver is known as one of the world’s fattest kids on goes on tour in Toby’s hometown. He eventually learns about Zachary’s life and the story goes on from there. The adventure and sad ending proved to be a great book for young readers.

50x66 I really did enjoy seeing Moose and Natalie's sibling relationship grow into a great friendship. The book was very interesting. Great story.

50x66 Al Capone Does my Shirts definitely is a sweet book. This book was inspired on the author’s sister who had autism, and Natalie in this story plays this character. I absolutely loved the adventures of Moose Flanagan. He really grew into a bright young man from the beginning to the end of the book regarding his little sister and protecting her. Back then autism wasn’t really known as a medical disorder but I really did admire the love and passion for helping Natalie in this book. Great book for the children to show them that everyone may be different in their own ways but should be treated fairly and equally at all times. Great book, great read! I enjoyed reading this.
Maniac Magee (3 new)

50x66 This book was soooo cute, how Magee sees no color. I love how this book was written as they were in segregation, but how he overcomes that. He does things his way and on his time. This is definitely a cute book, and a great book to teach diversity, bravery and respect. Wouldn’t mind reading it again.

50x66 I really enjoyed reading this book; it’s definitely one of a kind. I think this book is such a fun and relatable book that it could die old. I know this book would be great for the older children, just don’t know how to really incorporate this in the classroom for the younger ones. I definitely do want to include this book in our literacy journey in my classroom though, so I will find a way.

50x66 This story was great when I read it awhile back and still is now. The One and Only Ivan is a great story told from the point of view of a gorilla. He’s the true hero to these animals saving them from their cruel stays behind cage bars. This is a great book showing the interactions of the animals towards the humans.

50x66 This book is about a little girl who has moved to a new town during the summer. Having a hard time making friends during this summer she gets to adopt a stray dog, whose named Winn-Dixie, she then begins her journey of finding friends and realizing how much alike their situations are just like hers. This story provides an option for children to search for themselves and to put themselves in other children’s situations.
Bunnicula (5 new)
Jun 17, 2014 12:33PM

50x66 Bunnicula is such a loved story by young readers. A very funny mysterious book about a VAMPIRE rabbit or bunny. This story was told through the eyes of the family’s dog. The family’s dog and cat set out for an adventure to find out if Bunnicula really is a vampire or not. Funny read !

50x66 This story is pretty relatable to young children without a certain parent. This family lost their mother and wife. The young children wished for a mother to bring back life in this household. The dad puts out an ad and they are lucky to find someone who’s willing to take on the role, Sarah.

50x66 This book is over a little boy named Andrew Marcus who really wants freckles badly. He thinks these freckles are going to save him from not getting in trouble with his mother or in the schoolhouse. Why? Not sure. I would definitely use this book in a classroom to teach students about acceptance and encourage self-confidence. This book shows that it is definitely okay to be different in all shapes, sizes and colors.

50x66 I really enjoyed reading this book over these two young boys who were brought together during the Civil War. I could have never imagined myself in their shoes. Great Book and remarkable bond these two shared. This book is a wonderful book describing and showing the crazy times of war and slavery.
Smoky Night (2 new)
Jun 17, 2014 12:29PM

50x66 Smoky Night is over a young boy, Daniel who gives the reader an open perspective of his night living through street riots. Through all that was going on with this night from people stealing, and fires being set this story was pretty interesting to read. This story may be very relatable to older readers and lessons can be pretty interesting from this read as well.

50x66 I absolutely loved this little cute story over Isabella and her adventures. Isabella’s love for books shows in her journey through the library. This story would be great for a classroom because it could bring up interests of different books and stories that many students would like to read. I think this book would definitely stray some of the students to go on their own adventures in the library of course.
