I am thinking of doing another Austen August next year for Northanger Abbey/Persuasion, but I'll have to wait and see how busy real life gets before I can promise anything

Afterwards, Bingley buys an estate near to Pemberly, and Jane and Lizzie visit each other frequently.
Annoyingly, Lydia and Wickham often visit, asking Darcy for money a lot, and visiting the Bingleys so often that even he, probably one of the nicest and kindest men in the whole novel, gets tired of them! Kitty is kept away from Lydia's influence and matures more in the presence of Jane and Elizabeth (I imagine, much to her parents relief!)...
Lady Catherine eventually comes around to the idea of Elizabeth being married to Darcy and starts to visit them at Pemberly, while Lizzie has become close friends with Darcy's sister Georgiana, and even manages to be civil towards Caroline Bingley!
They always welcomed the Gardiners into their home, and loved them fondly, as it was because of them Elizabeth visited Pemberly and set the events I motion for Darcy and Elizabeth to be together.

~*~LE FIN~*~

“I cannot fix upon the hour, or the spot, or the looks, or the words which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew I had begun.”
Darcy writes to his aunt about their engagement (I'm sure she is over the moon.) and Mrs Bennet writes to the Collins' to do the same- in the end the Collins, the Lucases and Mrs Phillips wind up visiting Longbourn in the hopes of escaping a very angry Lady Catherine. Can't help but be amused at the mental image of Lady Catherine reading that letter...

Darcy and Lizzie go walking together again and later that evening, Darcy goes to Mr Bennet to ask for his daughter's hand in marriage; the talk between Mr Bennet and Lizzie is really cute and once he knows about Darcy's part in finding Lydia, he is all smiles about it- apart from giving his favourite daughter away, of course. D'aww.
As she leaves, he tells her “if any young men appear for Mary or Kitty, send them in, for I am quite at leisure”
When Lizzie tells Mrs Bennet, I think it's the first time in the entire book where she is lost for words!

Shortly after Lady Catherine let Lizzie know exactly what she thought of her, Darcy arrives to visit the Bingleys at Netherfield Park a few days after. (To visit Bingley...right.)
They arrive to visit the Bennets, and Bingley immediately suggests they go walking rather than be subjected to Mrs Bennet and her rants...So Bingley, Jane, Darcy, Lizzie and Kitty all go for a walk together. Bingley and Jane went ahead, while the other three lag behind, and Kitty decides to stop in at the Lucases and call on Charlotte's sister Maria- leaving Darcy and Lizzie to talk.

Lizzie tells Darcy she has been waiting ages to thank him properly for his help with Lydia's situation. Darcy says that he is sorry that it has weighed on her mind so much, and he wishes her aunt had kept her mouth shut.
“If you will thank me, let it be for yourself alone. That the wish of giving happiness to you, might add force to the other inducements which led me on, I shall not attempt to deny. But your family owe me nothing. Much as I respect them, I believe, I thought only of you....My affections and wishes are unchanged, but one word from you will silence me on this subject for ever”
Can this chapter just be an award ceremony for Darcy and his speeches because the rest of the chapter is pretty much just...yes. Perfect. Good.

:3 Very Dizzie Happy!

Mr Bennet is surprised because “Mr Darcy, who never looks at any woman but to see a blemish, and who probably never looked at you in your life!” Charming!!
And this chapter summary is very half hearted because I KNOW WHAT IS COMING NEXT OH HO!

She tells Elizabeth she wishes to speak to her alone, and proceeds to tell her that she recently heard a hilarious rumour that Darcy was planning on proposing to Elizabeth and that, obviously, this is ridiculous because of Elizabeth's low status in life and the fact that Darcy is supposedly meant to be engaged to her own daughter instead.
Elizabeth manages to hide her shock and keep her compose in front of Lady Catherine, while informing her that herself and Darcy are not and never were engaged to be married- however, she refuses to promise to Lady Catherine that she never will be engaged to her nephew, should he decide to ask her again. Lady Catherine tells her that not only is she supposedly bound by honour and gratitude to promise never to become engaged to Darcy, but also that her family's status would ruin that of Darcy's so much that she would be causing a disaster by doing so.
Lizzie defends herself and her family, and basically tells Lady Catherine where she can go. AWH YEAH. Lady Catherine is not amused.
Favourite Quotes:-
“ I am only resolved to act in that manner, which will, in my own opinion, constitute my happiness, without reference to you, or to any person so wholly unconnected with me.”

After which, Jane discovers that Bingley had no idea that Jane was in London over the winter and it was in fact a scheme of his sisters to keep them apart. - haha in yo face Caroline Bingley!
