Personality:

You can take a boy out of a rock band, but you can't take the rock band out of the boy. Raffe certainly doesn't lack in confidence. He's flirty, unattached, and charming - getting the ladies usually isn't an issue. It's not that he doesn't respect women; he just doesn't want to be tied down.

When he's all alone, it's almost like he's a completely different person. He becomes more reflective and quiet, and he allows himself to get lost in life's music. It's the times like these, times when he's all alone that terrify him. He doesn't know who he is, and being in his head is a daunting task that he wouldn't wish upon his greatest enemy. One could get lost in there.

He holds a lot of hope, but he hides that away, thinking it would make it less real. He knows that hoping is going to get him hurt, but as hard as he tries, he can't stop. Overall, he is a smart, confident, stereotypical rocker dude. His family knows that there's more to him than that, but most people can't see beyond the guy that is skin deep. Raffe hides behind that guy because surely after enough time, he'll become that guy. He's got an old soul, but no one at this school will ever know him enough to discover that.

History:

If Raffe told his friends that he grew up on a farm, they'd probably call him a bad liar and crack up at the mere thought. But then again, they don't know him as Raphael. No, to them he was always and only Skylar Andre. The rock star. He wasn't always, and he isn't now. It's one of those things that's just... complicated.

The 300 acre farm in Louisiana that had been passed down from generation to generation in the Andre family was always something special, hallowed almost. But being a farmer has never been a good job, and now it worse than ever, so something had to go. Raffe's parents had to pay the bills, so piece by piece they started selling the land. Food wasn't so hard to get on the table anymore, and they could afford to have children. Raphael was the oldest, and after him, it was all girls.

Raffe's father had always turned to music, the piano in particular, when he was going through rough spots. Before his second daughter was born, he passed away, but he lived long enough to know that his son had picked up the gene, the passion for music. Sure, it was trying, and sure, Raffe wanted to give up more than once, but he didn't. He persevered, and soon, music became something more. It was more than an outlet, more than a hobby. It was a part of who he was. To take away music would be to take away a part of him. He wanted to soak it all in, to learn all he could, to push himself to new levels. So he did. He found that he was not only a good pianist, but a powerful vocalist as well.

In school, he found a few other people that were also fiery for music and played instruments, so they formed a loose band that they named "Adamo," which means 'to fall in love with, or find pleasure in' in Latin. The loose band rapidly grew tighter and they were asked to perform more and more often. Then, a developing band's biggest dream came true. A record label took an interest to them and signed the band. Of course, the deal was made, and everything was going great. "Adamo" released their first single and it was a huge hit. The pop/rock group was quickly getting attention in the U.S. for their music. But of course, nothing could stay too good for long.

The lead guitarist, Blake, had always been on the wild side, but the band loved him for it. They didn't love it when he started up with drugs and had to go to rehab. Other guitarist came and went, but none worked as well or understood the group's unique dynamic like Blake had. It all went downhill from there. They started having arguments more frequently, and tempers were constantly high. The band was falling over a cliff, and they would not climb back up.

After deciding to go their separate ways until the end of high school, Raffe was faced with a choice. Did he just become a farmer like the rest of his family when he held so much potential? No. He held out to the hope that "Adamo" would get back together after high school, but until then, he had to find his own way. He found that in becoming a concert pianist. It was a far cry from being a rock star, but it was doing what he loved for a living.

But that was not where his story ended. One day he found himself messing around on the piano, toying with a melody for a song. Then, as if struck with a lightning bolt that infused knowledge in his head, he knew exactly how the whole song would play out. One time was strange but not unimaginable, but soon, it started happening almost every time a tune popped into his head. Tons of songs would practically write themselves in his head and beg to be released onto the keys of the piano, to be written onto paper, to be sang out into the screaming silence.

During this period of time, he drove himself slightly mad. The notes playing in his head were constantly torturing him to be released, and he still has momentary bouts of insanity when he snaps, for he can't handle it anymore. He's always carrying around a notepad and his phone with a recorder on it, so when he's away from the piano, he can record the onslaught of ideas building up in his mind. Eventually, Raffe called the band, and they decided to get back together, but then he got a full ride scholarship to some school for his piano playing. Once again, the band got put off, but they all hope to start up again and be more than a one hit wonder. Here he is Raphael. But a part of him will always be Skylar Andre.

Talent: Musician (Primarily a pianist but he's also an extraordinary singer, guitarist, drummer. However, the people at the Zachariah Institute only know "Raphael" and not "Skylar," so they aren't aware of his other talents/his band.)
